Tengku Razaleigh (TR) made a brief visit to Sabah on the 23rd May to meet UMNO grassroot members to assess the support for his intention to contest the number 1 post in UMNO at the coming general assembly.
Speaking to a strong crowd of 1000 grassroot leaders he openly solicited for the nominations from the Sabah UMNO members for the post of the President for the party.
Sabah has 25 divisions in the assembly scheduled to be held in December this year and if TR has enough nominations, hopefully some of those nominations have to come from Sabah.
TR is in the process of massive elucidation as to why he made firm decision to offer himself for the post of President for UMNO.
He touched on various issues faced by the party and the nation that the current line of leadership fails to mitigate.
Putting personal politics aside, politicians, the big ones and the small ones alike, should hand in hand with the supporting public, rally behind TR to settle our long standing hiccups behind us.
TR may be less of a politician but he is recognized master planner nationally and internationally who testimonially has sound track records of successes in the development of our great nation.
Malaysians in particular the middle-age and the younger generation should make serious research on this technocrat and be pleased, to find out that he is conclusively the best choice for the people to choose as their leader for the day.
The mountable challenges ahead of us need a real and hands-on technocrat cum politician like TR to lead and reset afresh strong acceptable policies for all communities, long term in nature, neatly executed and benefits our goal of creating harmonious Malaysians standing tall within international community.
The effort to put up TR to lead the country should be shouldered by all serious Malaysians as the challenges that lie ahead of nations like ours are not small.
To be a Prime Minister for this nation is not the right for any Tom, Dick and Harry.
It is not just who is getting the support from which divisions of UMNO, or which candidate is supported by whom, which cabinet minister is supporting who and so on and so forth.
We are talking about issues far beyond that: We are talking about who can bring our nation to greater height as we are in competition within the modern civilization.
Republic of China for instance, is not just a great nation, it is civilization by itself, and there is nothing that they don’t know about happenings to the every inch of the whole wide world.
We are no more interested having leaders with heavy baggages with them, like wives and family members having huge influence in their decisions.
We don’t want and detest weak leaders who are an easy prey of arm twisting by foreign powers which is disastrous to the nation’s future, and become the ultimate stooge of dubious foreign elements.
We have a lot of other pressing issues to address for the nation, and let us not be digressed by leaders with gigantic personal agenda who made the people pay hefty price to maintain them up there.
Many nation-loving Malaysians, see TR as the best candidate for this massive job, and hopefully every other Malaysian especially the confused UMNO leaders and members to come to term that they have to solidly rally behind TR for the sake of our very own future.

Waiting for Badawi's last day
Abdullah Badawi is no more on probation as he has led the nation for one solid parliamentary term, and since then we never hear success story about his team of leadership.
He is now just entering his second term after massive loss in the general elections (GE) and just managed to scrape through a simple win for the federal government.
So far Abdullah has set a record, as the most unpopular PM in this country’s history and now facing pressure from many quarters for him to retire.
Except for a few in his cabinet lineup the rest of the country’s populations feel that Abdullah is going to fail perpetually and have resign to the fact that he is incapable in mitigating political, economy, social and other related problems the nation is facing.
Dr Mahathir is the most vocal of all and has never stop battering Abdullah and his call for him to quit has reached to the optimum when he chose to resign from the party to add more momentous pressure on Abdullah to go.
Mahathir is not short of support as a few branches in Kedah and the northern states have left UMNO and many more unreported incidences of quitting the party.
I am told that there will be a strong number of his supporters receiving him as he touches down at Subang airport terminal on the 27th May after a brief trip to Japan where he attended the Nikkei conference in Tokyo.
Mahathir’s intention to get Abdullah to retire is quite well received by the people and he could have secured more ground swell had he clearly give the voting public as to who is the right person he wants to replace Abdullah.
His initial intention to get Najib to be the successor is not at all well received as Najib would be worst of person.
Dr Mahathir maybe successful in getting Abdullah to quit but he may fail miserably in trying to find viable replacement as the rakyat feel that if Abdullah is replaced by Najib, the there will be another long haul of uncertainty and UMNO will be history just after the next GE.
Mahathir has to bear in his active mind that the rejection was not just on Abdullah but on the leadership of the party as a whole.
The whole supreme council has to be accountable…that’s it. If they go through normal succession process in which the current deputy takes over, then there is no change as they are all one and the same.
For Dr Mahathir to disclaim all his past mistakes he should be moving towards total change in the party and administrations, since the present lineup were almost all his appointees.
The most suitable person for total correction should be a person with wide experience in the government coupled with extensive record in building the country’s economy and in particular the development of Bumiputra and the nation as a whole.
Let us also find somebody who is more democratic, who has the feel for his people and more importantly who has no inferiority complex acceptable to all races.
If Dr Mahathir admits that Tengku Razaleigh is the best choice among the many, UMNO is certainly coming back to height expeditiously and the recovery of support for the government would be instant.
Dr Mahathir will then be the man for Malaysian historians to scribble for his magnanimous act by supporting the man whom he has a long spat with to power for the sake of his great nation.
I truly want to see this to happen, as it can be a good tip for the generation to learn how their great leaders make decision for the sake of the country and its people.

Pemimpin mesti latih diri untuk berfikir
Ramai tidak puas hati dengan cara pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO membuat penyelesaian terhadap isu-isu yang dihadapi oleh parti sekarang ini.
Mereka (pemimpin) masih lagi tidak faham apa sebenarnya masalah parti kita yang bernama UMNO ini.
Kita tidak boleh merasa letih atau jemu memikirkan isu ini kerana ianya melibatkan masa depan negara, bangsa dan generasi kita.
Kita hanya menghadapi satu masalah:- Pemimpin-pemimpin kita tidak mampu berfikir dan tidak mahu berusaha untuk berfikir secara jujur.
Sesungguhnya bukan mudah bagi rakyat untuk meninggalkan BN atau UMNO, tetapi tentulah ada sebab yang tidak boleh diterima sehingga mereka sanggup membelakangkan kita.
Kita imbas kembali sejarah yang masih baru dan kita mulakan dengan peristiwa ’87.
Peristiwa ’87 telah membawa masalah kepada UMNO hingga UMNO terbatal oleh kerana permainan kotor sesetengah pihak dalam UMNO, tetapi masalah itu hanya melibatkan manusia pemimpin dalam parti.
Pergolakan hanya sekadar dalam lingkupan kepimpinan UMNO sahaja dan UMNO serta BN masih dapat sokongan dua per tiga dalam parlimen walaupun kehilangan Kelantan dan 13 kerusi di Sabah.
Begitu juga peristiwa mencemaskan pada tahun ’99 yang mana isu Anwar telah membawa perpecahan kepada barisan kepimpinan UMNO tetapi BN tetap selesa dengan kemenangan dua per tiga di Parlimen.
Pilihanraya 2004 telah memberikan BN kemenangan yang paling hebat kerana rakyat mahukan pertukaran pucuk pimpinan.
Siapa sahaja yang memimpin semasa itu akan mendapat sokongan yang besar.
Oleh kerana pemimpin yang barunya Abdullah, maka dialah yang mendapat sokongan itu.
Pendeknya, pergolakan-pergolakan yang berlaku ketika itu belum lagi membuat rakyat jemu kepada UMNO kerana isunya tidak melibatkan kelemahan pimpinan.
Dalam ‘period’ itu perkara-perkara yang lain tetap berjalan dengan lancar dan rakyat tetap bersama BN walau siapa pun yang memimpin.
Semasa itu sesiapa pun yang memimpin, baik Mahathir ataupun Anwar mahupun Tengku Razaleigh rakyat tetap bersama BN kerana kerajaan berjalan mengikut cara yang biasa diterima mereka.
Walaupun bibit-bibit perubahan negatif dalam budaya politik itu sudah mula berputik, tetapi ianya belumlah sampai ke tahap yang membolehkan rakyat bertindak membelakangkan kita.
Tetapi kini keadaan sudah berlainan, kerana rakyat sudah memandang rendah terhadap UMNO kerana pemimpin-pemimpinnya dianggap sebagai orang-orang yang tidak boleh diyakini.
Rakyat terasa benar dengan kelemahan pemimpin-pemimpin kita kerana barisan kepimpinan mempunyai ‘disposition’ yang begitu negatif sehinggakan mereka tidak lagi memandang UMNO sebagai pelindung kepada mereka lagi.
PM dengan isu negatif anak dan menantunya begitu meluas sampai ke akar umbi dan saya pernah terjumpa seorang wanita tua yang tidak mahu mengundi BN kerana bencikan Khairy.
Saya hairan dengan insiden ini seolah-olah orang tua itu mengenali Khairy sedangkan membaca dan menulis pun dia tidak tahu.
Ini membayangkan betapa seriusnya isu menantu PM ini kepada rakyat dan pengundi, sehinggakan parti pembangkang tidak payah lagi bersusah-payah kerana mereka mendapat ’bantuan’ menantu PM sendiri.
“Bro, Khairy is damn influential! Because of his influence the Pakatan Rakyat won handsomely in Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor and almost wiped off Wilayah Persekutuan,” kata seorang besar UMNO seraya menyindir.
Najib pula dihantui oleh isu peribadi yang memberikan impak negative terhadap dirinya sendiri serta kepada BN dan UMNO.
Najib dipalitkan dengan isu isterinya, isu komisen pembelian peralatan perang di kementeriannya dan isu Altantuya yang begitu negatif baginya dan moralnya beliau tidak layak dari segi moralnya untuk memimpin.
Samada cerita itu benar atau tidak, kita tidak tahu, tetapi sebagai pemimpin besar negara, Najib begitu lalai sehinggakan isu yang buruk ini menjadi buah mulut rakyat di mana-mana.
Rakyat sudah tidak lagi mempercayai beliau dan telah gagal sampai ke optima selaku pengarah pilihanraya baru-baru ini.
Pemimpin-pemimpin lain sarat dengan isu-isu masing-masing:- Ada menteri besar menjadikan negeri pimpinannya sebagai kepunyaan adik-beradik, ada menteri yang skandal dengan puteri UMNO dan bermacam-macam lagi.
Pendek kata, UMNO sudah dianggap parti yang kotor oleh rakyat kerana imej pemimpinnya yang tidak baik.
Apabila terlihat sahaja pemimpin UMNO di mana-mana orang ramai akan teringatkan rasuah, salahguna kuasa, kaya-raya, cerut mahal-mahal, perempuan-perempuan cantik, raba punggung pekerja hotel dan lain-lain yang merosakkan parti.
Bagi rakyat, tiada apa lagi yang ada pada UMNO untuk dipertahankan, maka mereka memandang alternatif yang paling hampir bagi mereka.
Orang Melayu pilih PAS dan PKR, orang-orang Cina memilih pula DAP dan PKR dan orang-orang India memilih DAP dan PKR.
Malahan orang-orang Cina pun telah memilih PAS di dalam PU12 baru-baru ini dan ini menunjukkan PAS telah mula mendapat keyakinan orang-orang Cina secara beransur-ansur.
Sekarang pemimpin-pemimpin yang sama bercakap tentang pembaharuan dan mencatur barisan kepimpinan parti.
Mereka memilih pemimpin di antara mereka yang tidak senonoh, dan ini membuatkan rakyat bertambah mual mendengarnya.

Mahathir quits
Tun Dr Mahathir staged a stunt by announcing a reverberating statement on the 19th May, that he was quitting UMNO, the party he personally formed in 1988 and made himself and his wife as members with membership number 1 and 2 respectively.
This shocking move was a latent reflection of his distrust for the current president whom he considers a man who deserves no respect and regards, for his failure to manage the party and this great nation in proper manner and moral.
The decision to quit is certainly done after a long and massive thinking.
Leaving his party for a ‘political animal’ like Mahathir, made everybody taken aback, and surely it was moved by demanding reasons.
His call for Abdullah to resign is known to all around the globe, as he cannot accept his weak and unfaithful successor staying any longer as the Prime Minister whom he thinks would eventually destroy the nation.
If Mahathir does not return to the fold within his last lap of his life, then he will be the fourth UMNO president who will die as non-UMNO member.
The announcement attracted the attention of media worldwide as Al-Jazeera, CNN and BBC almost immediately took the news as their headlines for the day.
At the local scene it took the reigning leaders to come out with individual statements of different flavors.
Some took the opportunity to amuse the current UMNO president with harsh and sharp attack on Dr Mahathir, while a few took a more sober line by calling Dr M to reconsider his decision leaving the party.
Vengeful Musa Hitam, as expected, expediently took the opportunity to throw sharp personal attack on Mahathir and was quoted as saying “ the thorn in the flesh for UMNO is now gone”.
However the feeling of Musa and Mahathir to each other has been mutual, and needs no elaboration.
For all intend and purposes, Dr M was clear in his mind as to why he took such decisive move.
He wants Pak Lah to go immediately and let the party members decide the fate of the party’s future.
Dr Mahathir believes that if the current president is still ‘loitering’ around in the party hierarchy, it would jeopardize the agenda to strengthen the ailing UMNO before the disease becomes terminal.
Dr M was indeed so disappointed and disillusioned as Pak Lah and the rest of the leaders do not take UMNO’s poor showing in the last General Election seriously.
We can’t deny that there were some soothing statements coming from Muhyiddin, Rais Yatim, Hishamudin Husein and few other leaders admitting UMNO’s own weaknesses for the dismal performances.
However, none of them did anything organically of consequence, but just stop at that point.
Meanwhile, Mahathir has been ‘yelling’ every other day calling the PM to take the blame for the people’s rejection on the party and instantly resign from the government and the party.
Abdullah conversely replied by saying that he has no reason at all to resign, as BN was just short of 8 seats for the two third majority.
He subsequently announced his decision to defend his position as UMNO president in the party’s election in December.
So, there has been no serious effort to strengthen the party….but individually the leaders are back to their normal politicking…. very busy positioning themselves for personal advantages.
To many political observers, the current political environment warrants all UMNO leaders and members to rally behind Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (TR) to take command and revamp the party.
TR, by far is the only living UMNO leader that fits into the job. He has track record of experiences in the government, party and has been astounding figure internationally.
He has not been in the vulnerable line-up of supreme council which experienced rejection in the last general elections (GE), and hence makes him the best choice as party president for the party to walk tall in the eyes of the rakyat.
Once and for all, let us hand over the party leadership to TR, and we can surely feel the illusions for better UMNO, Malays and all Malaysian and eventually all of us will see the reality of our illusions sets in expeditiously.
I dare say, the party will be history if anyone within the current supreme council takes up the job of UMNO president.

The announcement attracted the attention of media worldwide as Al-Jazeera, CNN and BBC almost immediately took the news as their headlines for the day.
At the local scene it took the reigning leaders to come out with individual statements of different flavors.
Some took the opportunity to amuse the current UMNO president with harsh and sharp attack on Dr Mahathir, while a few took a more sober line by calling Dr M to reconsider his decision leaving the party.
Vengeful Musa Hitam, as expected, expediently took the opportunity to throw sharp personal attack on Mahathir and was quoted as saying “ the thorn in the flesh for UMNO is now gone”.
However the feeling of Musa and Mahathir to each other has been mutual, and needs no elaboration.
For all intend and purposes, Dr M was clear in his mind as to why he took such decisive move.
He wants Pak Lah to go immediately and let the party members decide the fate of the party’s future.
Dr Mahathir believes that if the current president is still ‘loitering’ around in the party hierarchy, it would jeopardize the agenda to strengthen the ailing UMNO before the disease becomes terminal.
Dr M was indeed so disappointed and disillusioned as Pak Lah and the rest of the leaders do not take UMNO’s poor showing in the last General Election seriously.
We can’t deny that there were some soothing statements coming from Muhyiddin, Rais Yatim, Hishamudin Husein and few other leaders admitting UMNO’s own weaknesses for the dismal performances.
However, none of them did anything organically of consequence, but just stop at that point.
Meanwhile, Mahathir has been ‘yelling’ every other day calling the PM to take the blame for the people’s rejection on the party and instantly resign from the government and the party.
Abdullah conversely replied by saying that he has no reason at all to resign, as BN was just short of 8 seats for the two third majority.
He subsequently announced his decision to defend his position as UMNO president in the party’s election in December.
So, there has been no serious effort to strengthen the party….but individually the leaders are back to their normal politicking…. very busy positioning themselves for personal advantages.
To many political observers, the current political environment warrants all UMNO leaders and members to rally behind Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (TR) to take command and revamp the party.
TR, by far is the only living UMNO leader that fits into the job. He has track record of experiences in the government, party and has been astounding figure internationally.
He has not been in the vulnerable line-up of supreme council which experienced rejection in the last general elections (GE), and hence makes him the best choice as party president for the party to walk tall in the eyes of the rakyat.
Once and for all, let us hand over the party leadership to TR, and we can surely feel the illusions for better UMNO, Malays and all Malaysian and eventually all of us will see the reality of our illusions sets in expeditiously.
I dare say, the party will be history if anyone within the current supreme council takes up the job of UMNO president.
Many think that TR will be able to develop the last of the exiguous feelings of members for the party and to bring back UMNO to be the sanctuary for harmonious Malays and Malaysians.
